Title: Automating Maryland State Scholarship Process in PeopleSoft

Edith Bevan and Angie Hovatter, Financial Aid Office at Frostburg State University, and Jill Palla, Financial Aid Lead Consultant, The Cedar Group.

Description: This session will outline the modification we developed at Frostburg State University to automate the Maryland State Scholarship process. We then use an App Engine Component Interface Process that posts these awards from the flat file into PeopleSoft. Our process is run weekly when each new file is received from MHEC. It also does a compare against what is in PS and what is on the MHEC file. This process has assisted in posting thousands of state scholarship awards very efficiently

Title: Desktop Applications Reading From and Writing To PeopleSoft Tables

Presenter:  Jay Taffel

Description: There were a number of desktop applications in use at Towson University that automated entry into, and reports out of, the legacy FRS, HRS and SIS systems. Many of these programs needed to be re-worked for use with PeopleSoft data sources. Additional functionality was required in some areas since Towson University continues to use FRS for its financial data. All of these applications use ODBC connections between the desktop and the underlying database records that are used by PeopleSoft.
